A Fresh New Look
My new website and rebrand has officially launched! This has been a dream come true for me. I have wanted to do a rebrand on my website and business for a long time but never had the time or could justify getting it done until now. The last two months have been allot of planning and organising to make this happen including a branding identity photoshoot and working with a graphic designer. This has all been a new experience for me, particularly understanding who I am and what I want my brand to represent as an artist. I felt kind of strange talking about my art being a 'brand' but in a way it is what encompasses my style, theme, ethos and values.
I have been a practicing artist for over 10 years now. I still look back to markets I did a decade ago, when I had a bunch of etchings spread out over a table at a market. These prints were not backed with foam core or wrapped up nicely with a label - no - they were basically just thrown onto the table/floor and from memory I made up the prices as I went along. Seems a bit criminal now that I think of it (poor prints)! Also, I gave many of those early supporters a very VERY good deal! Gosh, everything was so much more rustic back then. But in those days there wasn’t instagram or that pressure for ‘insta worthy’ imagery and perfection which I think there is now. We live in a time where we need to adapt and I have definitely had to learn allot of things to keep up.
I’ve learnt allot in the past few years, definitely nearly given up a bunch of times too. It can be incredibly exhausting trying to balance creating ideas, designing, making, researching suppliers, working with new companies, keeping up with inventory, working with wholesale, finding new galleries, stockists, new clients, commissions, online orders, consignment orders, organising the financial year, Tax, GST, superannuation and simply LIFE. I work really long hours and sometimes I struggle to relax because I have too many ideas buzzing in my head. Somedays I feel like I live the dream and sometimes it just seems like a chaotic nightmare!
But anyway, enough ranting, I just wanted to share with you my new branding and website. It really has been a whole lot of blood, sweat and tears and long hours but I couldn’t be prouder!
