Life Lately…

Life Lately with our recent addition of Sofia Florence has been wonderful yet exhausting with the chaos that naturally occurs from having a baby and toddler. It’s a beautiful chaos! We’ve been adjusting to me opening the shop back up (thank you so much by the way for all your orders!) and Tim also going back after a few months of paternity leave. I have to say despite being terribly tired my ideas and inspiration are feeling electric. I have so many thoughts and moments of inspiration that my belly is just on fire! Most days you’ll find me sketching or painting with Sofia at my side or running to the studio to jot down an idea. I’ve been working on some new compositions and quirky designs for patterns and it’s given me so much drive and excitement for the future of my business.

This week though, is the last week of my studio being open here in Brisbane before we make the big move to Hobart. I’ve got mixed feeling about it as we have spend 6 years here making it home and establishing ourselves. It’s where Tim started and finished his nursing degree, became a wonderful nurse, where I had my two babies at the Mater hospital, made all my mum friends, bought our first house and family car. We have so many beautiful, big memories here in Brisbane that will always be a part of me and I do love it here. But then summer hits and the heat very quickly reminds me of how insufferable it can be. It is such an oppressive heat and I don’t cope well with feeling hot and sweaty on a constant basis. It is such a beautiful city but getting babies in and out of hot cars with the sun beaming down on me while everyones having a meltdown is so hard! I can’t tell you how excited I am for cooler weather and the unpredictability of Hobart’s climate.

So, my online shop will officially close this Sunday, 30th of November. I am closing it a bit earlier then anticipated simply because I need to start pulling down shelving and packing products up. I am so apprehensive about it because with all these Black Friday sales and Christmas advertising a small business like mine needs all the orders it can get! But it’s not everyday that we pack up and move our entire lives so I think I just need to not be so hard on myself and just take that step back. Plus, I really want to soak up my time with baby Sofia and reduce my stress levels! But if you feel like making any Christmas orders now would be the time!!

Life lately has been all about the candid moments and photos. Here are some candid pics of what we’ve been up to in the last couple months. There’s been allot of art and crafts at our household - which I absolutely love doing with my Hugo. There’s also been lots of halloween related activities as we love any excuse to play dress ups, invent scary stories and hang up decorations! Also, my bestie Liv features in our halloween trick or treating adventure which Hugo loved!!! Liv has been such a big part of our life/family here and we are pretty devastated to live more the 15 minutes away from her. But we can’t wait for more adventures with her and the kids in future! I feel pretty privileged to have such beautiful people around me in my life and children’s lives.

Hope you enjoyed seeing what we’ve been up to lately! It’s been lots of fun and chaos but I’m so happy for our little family and looking forward to the next chapter of our lives.
